Blood Drives
The Outreach Committee sponsors several blood drives each year.
Donor appointments are made several Sunday mornings prior to
each drive. Because a large number of donations are received,
members of Trinity Church are able to participate in the Blood
Assurance Program of the Carolina-Georgia Blood Center.
Community Ministry
The Outreach Committee
coordinates a variety of efforts to help meet human needs in
the community. In addition to supporting a number of local human
service agencies through the annual budget and special gifts,
Trinity Church encourages its members to serve as volunteers
for United Ministries, Meals on Wheels, the Greenville Literacy
Association and the Greenville Free Medical Clinic. The Outreach
Committee periodically staffs the Project Host Soup Kitchen.
All members are encouraged to bring food for the Emergency Assistance
Program of United Ministries when coming to worship on the first
and third Sundays of each month.

ELCA World Hunger Appeal
Members of Trinity
Church are encouraged to make special gifts to the ELCA World
Hunger Appeal, which works to alleviate hunger throughout the
world. In recent years Trinity Church has led the SC Synod in
contributions to this effort.
Greenville Area Interfaith Hospitality
The Outreach Committee
and other volunteers work with a number of area congregations
to provide a ministry for homeless families. This ministry networks
congregations to provide these families with overnight accomodations
and meals on a rotating basis. Volunteers prepare meals, spend
the night, set up and re-set facilities, provide recreation
and spend time with the guests who are housed at Trinity Church
four or five weeks each year.

Trinity Care Team
The Trinity Care
Team provides assistance and support to members of Trinity Church
who have special needs because of sickness, injury or aging.
The team also provides ministry to individuals and families
with AIDS and coordinates the Elizabeth Ministry. Based on the
visitation story of Mary and Elizabeth, the Elizabeth Ministry
affirms, supports, encourages and assists women and their families
with the challenges and joys of pregnancy and childbirth.

Trinity Lutheran Campus Ministry
Trinity Church provides a ministry to the students at Furman
University by encouraging them to participate in worship and
other areas of congregational life. The congregation also sponsors
the Lutheran Student Association, a fellowship and study group
for Furman Students.
Trinity Lutheran Church Foundation
The Foundation
enhances the mission outreach of Trinity Church by making grants
to human service agencies in the community to which the congregation
relates, grants to institutions and agencies of the South Carolina
Synod and the ELCA, and grants to church members to attend an
ELCA seminary or other church-related educational or leadership
conference or service events. In 2003 the Foundation made eleven
grants totaling $75,783. In its seven year history, the Foundation
has distributed a total of $574,206. In 2004, grant applications
will be received between September 1 and October 15. Applications
may be obtained by calling the Church Office.
